Those words describe St. Mary’s Emergency Services' two locations: the hospital campus ER and the Sun Prairie Emergency Center. Because of a strategic redesign of patient flow and precise coordination of services, patients across Dane County are being seen by a doctor faster, within an average of 14 minutes of arrival. No wonder our patients don’t have time to sit down.
The capacity of the hospital campus ER facility has nearly doubled thanks to a recent expansion. With 29 private exam rooms and a rooftop helipad that’s linked by elevator directly to the ER, the expanded Emergency Services department treated over 50,000 patients in 2011—more than any other local ER. Implementation of an electronic health record system, bedside registration, unit-based medical imaging capabilities and other efficiencies have reduced door-to-doc times and increased patient satisfaction.
Residents of Sun Prairie and surrounding communities have experienced these benefits. July 2009 marked the opening of a 10-bed satellite emergency center at 2840 O'Keeffe Avenue. Complete with laboratory, radiology and helicopter transport, St. Mary's Sun Prairie Emergency Center brings quality care closer to home for thousands.

Both facilities are staffed by Madison Emergency Physicians. Each of St. Mary's emergency physician partners is board-certified in emergency medicine and there's always a Certified Emergency Nurse on staff to care for you. That is better!
