Sleep medicine is a rapidly growing field, and St. Mary's Hospital provides a premiere facility dedicated to the discipline. Strong evidence links inadequate sleep to a number of other physical and mental health concerns such as high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, depression, heart attack and stroke.
St. Mary's Sleep Center was formerly housed in St. Mary's Hospital when it opened in 1990. At that time, 75 sleep studies were conducted. In 2006, when the new facility opened with 12 beds and three Dean physician offices and exam rooms, nearly 2,000 sleep studies were scheduled. Take a tour of the facility.
St. Mary's Sleep Center provides one convenient location for patients to arrive for their clinic visits with a sleep physician as well as for their sleep studies.
The center is located at 2844 Index Road in Madison, just off of Fish Hatchery Road and Greenway Cross. Highways 18,14,12,151 and Interstate 90 all intersect with West Beltline Highway (12/18). From the Beltline go south on Fish Hatchery Road, then left at the first stoplight, which is Greenway Cross. Take a right onto Index Road. The center is on the right-hand side.
