St. Mary's & Dean
St. Mary's has nurtured close ties with the physicians of Dean Clinic since the hospital was founded in 1912.
The years brought about substantial changes and growth to both Dean and to St. Mary's. Since the late 1980s the two entities have embarked on several joint efforts to broaden the scope of health care services available to individuals in south central Wisconsin.
St. Mary's and Dean jointly own and manage more than 20 primary care clinics, which include approximately 100 physicians. St. Marys/Dean Ventures, Inc. provides financial, management, technological and recruitment support for the primary care clinics located throughout south central Wisconsin.
The joint venture also owns and operates the Surgery and Care Center in Madison, the Riverview Surgery Center in Janesville, Davis Duehr Dean Surgery Center. St. Mary's and Dean also offer joint services in perinatology, cardiovascular care, neurosciences and geriatrics as well as education and support groups for the community.
St. Mary's & Meriter
St. Mary's and Meriter Hospital jointly own and operate the Turville Bay MRI & Radiation Oncology Center. In 1985, the two hospitals joined with University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics to establish the MERI medical waste disposal system. All three Madison hospitals now dispose of their medical waste through an up-to-date, energy efficient microwave disposal unit. The three hospitals also jointly contract for lithotripsy services.
St. Mary's & UW Medical School
Since 1970, St. Mary's and the UW Medical School have maintained a close partnership through the UW-Madison Family Medicine Residency Program.
St. Mary's is one of the principal clinical practice sites for the residents who are enrolled in the three-year program. St. Mary's also provides the residency program with administrative offices and clinic space. In 1992, St. Mary's built the new Wingra Family Medicine Center in south Madison where residents and UW family practice faculty members see over 7,000 patients per year, many of whom are uninsured or low-income.
