Leader. Innovator. Advocate. These are just some of the words used to describe nurses at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Nursing at St. Mary’s Hospital offers a distinctly different experience unlike no other in southwest Wisconsin. The community we serve can count on us to provide world-class nursing services and exceptional patient-centered care with proven, outstanding clinical outcomes.
Providing world-class nursing care
Time and again, our nurses have helped achieve record high patient satisfaction scores and continue to be recognized for their hard work. We were the first hospital in the region as well as the first health-care organization to be a winner of the prestigious Baldrige Award as a member of SSM Health. The Baldrige Award is the top honor a U.S. employer can earn for quality management and achievement. In 1999, St. Mary's also became the first hospital recipient of the Wisconsin Forward Award of Excellence and was recognized with the honor again in 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2013. The Forward Award recognizes world-class quality performance among Wisconsin employers.
St. Mary’s was the first hospital in the region to earn Magnet® designation from the Magnet Recognition Program®. Since 2002, our nurses have had the distinct honor to achieve three consecutive Magnet® designations from the American Nurses Credentialing Center and are currently working toward a third redesignation. Magnet status is the highest level of recognition in nursing excellence given by the Credentialing Center. We invite you to read more about our Magnet Journey.
